Assessing Wind Farm Site Suitability in Bangladesh: A GIS-AHP Approach

Wind energy is one of the most attractive renewable sources because its low operating, maintenance, and production costs as well environmental impact. The goal this study to discover best locations in Bangladesh for wind farms be built operated efficiently. This applied Geographic Information System (GIS) Analytical Hierarchy (AHP) methodologies examine eight important parameters upon which suitability highly dependent. analysis finds that has large regions appropriate farm installation, with 3718.76 km2 16,631.14 classified being “very high” “high” suitability, respectively. It was also observed speed, land slope, elevation each had a height-weighted criterion 32%, 27%, 12%, respectively, when picking suitable locations. However, overall viability identifying sites been evaluated based on ROC AUC techniques found satisfactory per value. knowledge gained from will help sustainable development authority (SREDA) expedite investment process ensure greater certainty resource development. findings research can considered baseline information sector.
